Badlands Winter Kaleidoscope
December. There should have been snow in the North Dakota Badlands by now. Lots of it. Only a smattering had collected in low lying areas. As the sun lowered in the western sky, magic began to take place looking towards the east. For a split second, my mind saw bright, psychedelia. Was it real? All those preceding winters when the snow had so deeply covered this landscape in December, is this what was beneath? I blinked. It was gone.
